Reconstruction of Lapland memorial

This memorial is for all those hardworking people who reconstructed the Rovaniemi town after The War of Lapland and German soldiers’ total destruction of the Rovaniemi.

“For millennia, this place at the confluence of mighty rivers has been a natural place for people to live. In growing numbers they settled here, giving others more reason to visit. Quite naturally, a growing village sprang up on this interfluvial site, the trade, traffic, administrative and cultural centre of Lapland”
